Name: Jason Taylor
Ministry Role and Place: Biblical Soul Care Pastor (Coram Deo Bible Church, Davenport, IA)
Role/Responsibilities/What you enjoy on the Core Team:
I am a Core Team member. I enjoy periodically teaching/leading workshops and building relationships with others.
When did you begin serving on the EIBCC Core Team? 2019
Why did you want to serve on the Core Team of the EIBCC?
I wanted to serve on the Core Team for three main reasons:
- I believe in the authority and sufficiency of the Scripture and I want to see that propagated among the churches in our region.
- I love the people on the Core Team!
- I am personally encouraged and sharpened.
How have you been blessed by the EIBCC?
While it is really amazing to have a solid church community, it is such a blessing to have community outside the local church as well. We are like-minded believers who serve Jesus through Biblical counseling. I know I can call on them for questions, prayer, and encouragement. On multiple occasions they have personally helped me grow.
How has your church been blessed by the EIBCC?
Our Biblical counselors come regularly to the monthly meetings. More would come if their schedule permitted.
Favorite memory you have about the EIBCC?
I have two:
- Dave Kirk spoke at the last in-person conference we held. His zipper was down while on-stage.
- Having the privilege to be a part of the marriage retreat at Matt’s church. Such a joy to meet the sweet folks at his church.
What is a struggle the EIBCC has gone through and how did God provide?
Covid brought a struggle to the EIBCC. It was difficult to continue to have workshops/trainings. We met on Zoom for a period of time and ultimately God restored our monthly workshops. He is faithful!
How would you like to see the EIBCC grow in the future?
Four ways:
- Have the conference come back again
- For more churches to participate
- More organized support for pastors and their wives
- Greater connectedness/community
Bonus Question: How can the EIBCC be praying for you? That I would see and know Jesus deeper every day. (Phil 3:10, 11)
